Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
TubeRip is built to collect as little as possible: no accounts, no sign-up, no tracking profiles. This policy explains exactly what data the Service at tuberip.xyz (including the Spotify converter at tuberip.xyz/spotify) handles, why, and for how long.
1 What We Collect
- Your IP address. Used to enforce the daily conversion limit and prevent abuse. The counter is kept only in server memory and is cleared after 24 hours (or whenever the server restarts).
- The links you submit. The YouTube or Spotify link you paste, the format and quality you choose, and your IP address are written to our server logs so we can diagnose errors and stop abuse.
- Conversion history. For each conversion we keep a record of what was converted (the link and its title), the format, whether it succeeded, how long it took, and your country. This record does not include your IP address. It's kept for up to 12 months so we can see how the Service is used.
- Signed-in users. If you log in with a password, each login attempt is recorded with its time, your IP address, your approximate location (city, region, and country, worked out from the IP address), and your device type (for example "iPhone · Safari"). This is kept for up to 12 months for security. The password itself is never stored in this record. Signing in stores a cookie on your device that keeps you logged in until you log out.
- Converted files. Each file is created on our server and kept for up to 30 minutes after it finishes, so you can download it again, and then deleted automatically.
- Basic request data. Like any website, our hosting and security providers receive standard request information (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time).
We do not collect your name, email address, or any account details. We never ask for your Spotify, YouTube, or Google login.
2 What's Stored on Your Device
TubeRip does not set tracking cookies. If you log in, a single sign-in cookie keeps you logged in; it isn't used for tracking. The page also stores a small counter of today's conversions in your browser's local storage to show you when you've reached the daily limit. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
3 Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. The following services are involved in running TubeRip:
- Cloudflare routes and protects traffic to the site.
- Railway hosts the server and keeps its logs according to its own retention policy.
- YouTube and Spotify. To convert a link, our server (not your browser) requests the video or the public track details. Thumbnails and album cover images shown on the page load directly from YouTube's and Spotify's image servers, which lets them see your IP address.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typeface, which lets Google see your IP address.
- ipwho.is may be used to look up the approximate location of the IP address of a login attempt, when Cloudflare hasn't already provided it. It is never used for regular visitors.
- Advertising. If we display ads, our advertising partners (such as Google) may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, subject to their own privacy policies. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent first. You can manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
4 Legal Requests & Copyright Notices
We may disclose the limited information we hold if required by law, such as a valid court order, or to respond to copyright notices under our DMCA policy. Because we keep very little and delete it quickly, there is usually little to disclose.
5 Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data about you, or to object to its processing. Since TubeRip does not keep accounts, the personal data we may hold is your IP address in recent logs and, if you logged in, the login records described above. Email [email protected] with your request and we'll respond within 30 days.
Our legal basis for processing your IP address is our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure, fair, and working.
6 Children
TubeRip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
